What is Dermaplant ointment and what is it used for?

Dermaplant ointment is a homeopathic medicine used to treat skin diseases.The areas of application correspond to the homeopathic drug picture and include inflammation of the skin with itching, such as eczema and neurodermatitis (endogenous eczema).

Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredient in Dermaplant ointment is Cardiospermum mother tincture.Other ingredients include benzyl alcohol (preservative), emulsifying cetostearyl alcohol (type A) (Ph.Eur), octyldodecanol (Ph.Eur), white petroleum jelly, thick paraffin and purified water.

Application and dosage

Dermaplant ointment should be applied thinly to the affected skin areas three times a day and massaged in gently.No prescription is required for this product.It is important not to use the ointment for longer than necessary unless discussed with a doctor or pharmacist.

Contraindications and precautions

Dermaplant ointment must not be used if you are hypersensitive to the active ingredient or any of the other ingredients.Medical advice should be sought if the skin is severely inflamed, suppurative or feverish, as well as if symptoms persist, are unclear or are new.Contact of the ointment with eyes, mucous membranes and deep open wounds should be avoided.After applying the ointment, hands should be cleaned.

Side effects

Like all medicines, Dermaplant ointment can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.In rare cases, local skin intolerance reactions may occur.Cetylstearyl alcohol can cause localized skin irritation (e.g. contact dermatitis).When using homeopathic medicines, the existing symptoms can temporarily worsen (initial aggravation).In this case you should stop taking the medicine and consult your doctor.

Storage

Dermaplant ointment can be used up to 12 months after opening the tube.Medicines should be kept out of the reach of children.You must not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the container and outer packaging.
