Instructions for use for Canesten GYN Once Kombi

Canesten GYN Once Kombi is a medicine for the treatment of fungal infections of the vagina.The active ingredient clotrimazole inhibits the growth and reproduction of fungal cells, such as yeast of the genus Candida, as well as certain bacteria.The product is available without a prescription.

Areas of application

Canesten GYN Once Kombi is used for infectious discharge caused by yeast fungi, as well as for inflammation of the vagina and labia caused by fungi.It can also be used for superimposed infections with clotrimazole-sensitive bacteria.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The vaginal tablet contains 500 mg clotrimazole as the active ingredient.The cream contains 10 mg clotrimazole per gram. Other ingredients in the vaginal tablet are calcium lactate pentahydrate, crospovidone, colloidal silicon dioxide, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, corn starch, hypromellose, microcrystalline cellulose and lactic acid.The cream also contains benzyl alcohol, octyldodecanol, cetostearyl alcohol, cetyl palmitate, sorbitan stearate, polysorbate 60 and purified water.

Application

It is best to insert the vaginal tablet as deeply as possible into the vagina in the evening, either with your fingers or with the applicator provided.The cream is applied thinly to the affected skin areas 2-3 times a day.Treatment should not be carried out during menstruation.

Dosage

The recommended dose is one vaginal tablet and use of the cream for 1-2 weeks.A second treatment can be added if necessary.If there is no improvement after 4 days, a doctor should be consulted.

Side effects

Possible side effects include skin hypersensitivity reactions, such as burning, stinging or redness of the skin.Allergic reactions caused by benzyl alcohol or cetostearyl alcohol can occur with the cream.If side effects occur, use should be discontinued and a doctor consulted.

Contraindications

Canesten GYN Once Kombi must not be used if you are hypersensitive to clotrimazole, benzyl alcohol or any of the other ingredients.If the disease occurs for the first time or if you have more than four fungal infections within the last 12 months, you should consult a doctor.During pregnancy and breastfeeding, a doctor should be consulted before use.

Storage

The medicine should be kept out of the reach of children and should not be used after the expiry date stated on the package.The cream has a shelf life of 3 months after opening and should be stored at room temperature.
