Area of application

Chlorhexidine digluconate solution 2% concentrate belongs to the group of oral cavity antiseptics.It is used to temporarily reduce the number of germs in the oral cavity, to support the healing phase after periodontal surgery, as a temporary supportive therapy for mechanical cleaning in cases of bacterial inflammation of the gums (gingivitis) and oral mucosa and in cases of limited oral hygiene ability.No prescription is required for this product.

Ingredients of chlorhexidine digluconate solution 2% concentrate: 2 g chlorhexidine digluconate, 11.26 mg chlorhexidine, water, purified as an excipient, as well as natural and nature-identical flavorings as an excipient.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to the active ingredient or any of the other ingredients of the solution.

Dosage

Recommended use of chlorhexidine digluconate solution 2% concentrate: Use the concentrate 3 times a day after meals and brushing your teeth.Dilute 20 drops (1 ml) of solution with 9 ml of water (0.2%) and rinse for 1 minute.For milder inflammation, a 0.1% solution is sufficient (dilute 20 drops with 19 ml of water).

Intake

Rinse for 1 minute after meals and brushing your teeth.Application in the oral cavity.Do not rinse with water.The solution should not be swallowed, but accidental ingestion is harmless.The solution is also suitable as an addition to oral irrigators.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when using it in the case of changes in the oral mucosa caused by weeping desquamation (erosive-desquamative changes), in the case of wounds and ulcers in the oral mucosa (ulcerations).The solution must not be accidentally applied to the eye, ear canal or tissue with poor blood supply.Driving and operating machines do not require any special precautions.

Pregnancy

Pregnancy and breast-feeding: There is no sufficient experience or research on the safety of using chlorhexidine, the active ingredient of the drug, during pregnancy and breast-feeding.Therefore, the medicine should be used with particular caution.
