Area of application

The medicine is an anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving patch for use on the skin.It belongs to the group of non-steroidal pain and anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAR = non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs).It is used for the local, symptomatic treatment of pain associated with epicondylitis (e.g. tennis elbow) and ankle sprains (sprains/strains of the ankle).

The active ingredient is epolamine diclofenac.Each pain patch contains 180 mg epolamine diclofenac, equivalent to 140 mg diclofenac sodium.The other ingredients are: gelatin, povidone (K90), sorbitol solution 70% (non-crystallizing), white clay, titanium dioxide (E 171), propylene glycol, methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate (E 218), propyl 4-hydroxybenzoate (E 216), sodium edetate (E 385), tartaric acid, aluminum glycinate dihydroxide, carmellose sodium,Polyacrylic acid, sodium salt, butane-1,3-diol, polysorbate 80, dalin-PH-perfume (propylene glycol, benzyl (2-hydroxybenzoate), 2-phenylethanol, alpha-cinnamaldehyde, hydroxycitronella, phenethyl (phenyl acetate), cinnamic acetate, benzyl acetate, terpineol, cinnamic alcohol, cyclamenaldehyde), purified water and unwoven polyester support fabric.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used in cases of known hypersensitivity to the active ingredient diclofenac, acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or any of the other ingredients of the medicine, on injured skin of any kind, from the beginning of the 6th month of pregnancy and in patients with active ulcers in the digestive tract (peptic ulcer).

Dosage

Always use the medicine exactly as directed.Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.Adults and adolescents aged 16 and older: For tennis elbow and golfer's elbow, apply a pain patch in the morning and remove it in the evening, applying a new patch.Repeat this for a maximum of 14 days.For ankle sprain or strain, apply one patch per day and remove it the next day, applying a new patch.Repeat this for a maximum of 3 days.

Intake

For use on skin only.The plaster must be used as a whole.Cut open the top of the resealable bag.Remove a plaster and carefully close the bag again.Write the date you opened the bag in the space provided.Remove the plastic film that protects the adhesive layer.Apply a plaster to the painful or swollen area.If necessary, it can be fixed using the elastic mesh tube included in the pack.Do not cover the plaster with other airtight dressing materials.Be careful not to let the gel in the patch come into contact with your eyes, nose, mouth, genital and anal areas.If the patch gel comes into contact with these areas, rinse with water.

Patient information

Particular care is required when using it.Avoid contact with mucous membranes and eyes and do not use the medicine on mucous membranes or the eyes.Do not use the product with a tightly fitting bandage (occlusive bandage).Stop treatment immediately if a skin rash occurs after using a Voltaren patch.Do not use the medicine at the same time as other medicines containing diclofenac or other medicines from the group of non-steroidal painkillers and anti-inflammatory drugs, regardless of whether they are used externally or taken.Use the product with caution if you suffer from kidney, heart or liver dysfunction, or have suffered from an ulcer in the digestive tract (peptic ulcer), intestinal inflammation or a tendency to bleed (haemorrhagic diathesis).To minimize the risk of a photosensitivity reaction, you should avoid exposure to direct sunlight or go to a tanning bed during treatment with the medicine.If you suffer from or have a history of bronchial asthma or allergies - or an allergy to acetylsalicylic acid or another NSAR , spasm of the bronchial muscles (bronchospasm) may occur.You should use the medicated patch with caution if you have asthma or chronic asthma in which asthma attacks, hives or acute rhinitis have been triggered by acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory substances (painkillers).

Pregnancy

The use of Flector pain patches is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding.Flector pain patches must not be used during the last 4 months of pregnancy.If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or breastfeeding, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using Flector pain patches.
