The Boso roid 1 blood pressure monitor is equipped with a Velcro cuff for adults (standard size 22-32 cm) and has single-tube technology.It has a plug-in connection for the cuff and is provided with a metal ring.The device complies with the international standard ISO 81060-1.

The metrological control should be carried out at least every 2 years, either by the manufacturer or by authorized service providers in accordance with the Medical Device Operator Regulations.Modification of the device or accessories is not permitted as this may lead to measurement errors.The device can be used by people who have knowledge of auscultatory blood pressure measurement.

Purpose

The blood pressure monitor is used to non-invasively record the systolic and diastolic blood pressure values in people.It can be used with any arm circumference as indicated on the associated cuff.

Scope of delivery

The scope of delivery includes a blood pressure monitor with a blood pressure cuff and instructions for use.

Technical data

The measuring range of the device is 0-300 mmHg, with a pressure display accuracy of ± 3 mmHg or 2% of the reading (whichever is greater).Storage conditions are -30-70°C with a relative humidity of 15-85%, while operating conditions are 10-40°C with a relative humidity of 15-85.

Important notes

Keep the device away from strong shocks, dirt and moisture.Make sure that the cuff is not damaged by sharp objects.Do not inflate the cuff above 300 mmHg and take a break of at least 2 minutes between measurements.Only use boso cuffs and choose them to fit your arm circumference.

To measure blood pressure, the patient should sit comfortably, not cross their legs, lean or support their back and arms, and position the middle of the cuff on their upper arm at heart level.During the measurement, the patient should be as relaxed as possible and not talk.Before the first measurement, the patient should rest for 5 minutes.

For auscultatory measurements, it is recommended that adults and pregnant women use phase V (K5) of Korotkoff sounds, unless sounds are audible when the cuff is deflated, then phase IV (K4).Phase IV (K4) should be used by children aged 3 to 12 years.K5 is the point at which the sounds heard with the stethoscope are no longer audible, and K4 is the point at which the sounds change from a clear beating to a dull beating sound.

Putting on the cuff

The cuff should not be placed over wounds as this may cause further injury.Blood pressure should always be measured on the arm with the higher pressure values.To do this, first measure the blood pressure on both arms and then always on the arm with the higher blood pressure value.Place the cuff so that the lower edge of the cuff is approx. 2-3 cm above the elbow and the middle of the rubber bag is above the artery.

Carrying out the measurement

Inflate the cuff above systolic pressure.The air release speed can be adjusted by turning the knurled screw.The WHO (World Health Organization) recommends a release rate of 2-3 mmHg/sec. To avoid reading error, read the pressure values perpendicular to the scale.After completing the measurement, fully open the release valve to quickly vent the cuff.

Cleaning the device and the cuff

To clean the device, please only use a soft, dry cloth.To clean the cuff, please remove the rubber bag.The cuff cover can be hand washed at a maximum of 30°C.

For wiping disinfection (reaction time of at least 5 minutes) of the device, we recommend the disinfectant mikrozid sensitive liquid (Schülke & Mayr).To disinfect the cuff, we recommend spray disinfection.

Disposal

Please ensure disposal of the device in accordance with all regional and national environmental regulations.
