Instructions for use of Helixor P 1 mg

Helixor® is an anthroposophic medicine that is used for the extended treatment of tumor diseases.It contains an extract of fresh mistletoe, which, depending on the product variant, is made from pine mistletoe, apple tree mistletoe or pine mistletoe.The amount of fresh plant used to make one ampoule is given in milligrams.Water for injections and sodium chloride are used as extractants.

Helixor® is used in adults in accordance with the anthroposophical knowledge of humanity and nature to stimulate form and integration forces to dissolve and reintegrate growth processes that have become independent.This includes the treatment of malignant and benign tumor diseases, accompanying disorders of the blood-forming organs, defined precancerous lesions and the prevention of relapses after tumor operations.

Application and dosage

Helixor® is injected subcutaneously, if possible in the vicinity of the tumor or metastases, otherwise in different locations of the intact skin.The usual dose is 2 to 3 injections per week.Therapy usually begins with a low dose, which is gradually increased until the optimal individual dose is determined.

The optimal dose is determined based on various responses, including changes in subjective well-being, temperature responses, immunological responses and local inflammatory responses at the injection site.In case of hypersensitivity or severe reactions, the dose should be reduced.

Side effects and precautions

Possible side effects include a slight increase in body temperature, localized inflammatory reactions around the injection site, and temporary mild swelling of regional lymph nodes.In the case of more severe reactions or a fever above 38°C, the next injection should only be given after these symptoms have subsided and in a reduced dose.

Helixor® must not be used in case of hypersensitivity to mistletoe preparations, acute inflammatory or high fever diseases, chronic granulomatous diseases, autoimmune diseases with severe symptoms, under immunosuppressive treatment or in case of hyperthyroidism with palpitations.

Storage

Helixor® should be kept out of the reach of children and should not be used after the expiry date.The ampoules should be stored in the original packaging and protected from light.Helixor® 0.01 mg and 0.1 mg should be stored in a refrigerator, while Helixor® 1 mg to 100 mg should not be stored above 30 °C.

Composition

1 ml injection solution (1 ampoule) Helixor® contains an extract of fresh mistletoe (plant to extract = 1:20) and extractants such as water for injections and sodium chloride.The exact amount of extract varies depending on the strength of the preparation.
