Instructions for use of Helixor A 5 mg

Helixor® is an anthroposophic medicine that is used for the extended treatment of tumor diseases.It contains an extract of fresh mistletoe, which, depending on the product variant, is made from pine mistletoe, apple tree mistletoe or pine mistletoe.The solution for injection is prepared with water for injections and sodium chloride as an extractant.

In accordance with the anthroposophical knowledge of humanity and nature, Helixor® is used in adults to stimulate form and integration forces to dissolve and reintegrate growth processes that have become independent.This includes malignant tumor diseases, including those with accompanying disorders of the blood-forming organs, benign tumor diseases, defined precancerous lesions and the prevention of relapses after tumor operations.

Application and dosage

Helixor® is applied by subcutaneous injection (syringe under the skin), if possible near the tumor or metastasis or in different areas of the intact skin.The usual dose is one subcutaneous injection 2 to 3 times weekly.Therapy usually begins with an induction phase in which the dose is gradually increased until maintenance therapy is achieved.

The optimal dose must be determined individually and may vary depending on the patient's reaction.During treatment, reactions such as changes in subjective well-being, temperature reactions, immunological reactions and local inflammatory reactions at the injection site should be observed.

Side effects and precautions

A slight increase in body temperature, localized inflammatory reactions around the injection site and temporary slight swelling of regional lymph nodes are harmless.If there is a fever over 38 °C or major local reactions over 5 cm in diameter, the next injection should only be given after these symptoms have subsided and at a reduced strength or dose.

Helixor® must not be used if you are hypersensitive to mistletoe preparations, suffer from an acute inflammatory or high fever illness, have chronic granulomatous diseases or autoimmune diseases with severe symptoms, or are under immunosuppressive treatment.Caution should also be exercised if you have an overactive thyroid with a racing heart.

Storage

Keep medicines out of the reach of children.The medicine must not be used after the expiry date stated on each ampoule and box.The ampoules should be kept in the original packaging to protect the contents from light and stored in the refrigerator.

Contents of the pack

Helixor® is available in different pack sizes, including original packs of 8 ampoules of the same concentration and serial packs of 7 ampoules in increasing concentrations.The exact composition and amount of active ingredient vary depending on the concentration of the ampoules.

Helixor A 5 mg contains an aqueous extract of fresh pine mistletoe, corresponding to 5 mg of fresh plant per ampoule.Other ingredients include sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide and water for injections.
