Instructions for use of Helixor M 5 mg
Helixor® is an anthroposophic medicine that is used for the extended treatment of tumor diseases.It contains an extract of fresh mistletoe, which, depending on the variant, is made from pine mistletoe, apple tree mistletoe or pine mistletoe.The solution for injection is prepared with water for injections and sodium chloride as an extractant.

Areas of application
In accordance with the anthroposophical knowledge of humanity and nature, Helixor® is used in adults to stimulate form and integration forces to dissolve and reintegrate growth processes that have become independent.This includes malignant tumor diseases, including those with accompanying disorders of the blood-forming organs, benign tumor diseases, defined precancerous lesions and the prevention of relapses after tumor operations.
Active ingredients and composition
Helixor® is available in different strengths depending on the amount of fresh plant material used.The solution for injection contains extracts of fresh mistletoe in different concentrations, prepared with water for injections and sodium chloride.The exact amount of extract varies depending on the strength of the solution.
Application and dosage
Helixor® is injected subcutaneously, if possible in the vicinity of the tumor or metastases, otherwise in different locations of the intact skin.The usual dose is 2 to 3 injections per week.Therapy begins with an induction phase in which the dose is gradually increased until maintenance therapy is achieved.The optimal dose is determined individually and can be adjusted depending on the patient's reaction.
A reduction in dose may be necessary during radiation or chemotherapy.In the maintenance phase, treatment continues at the determined optimal dose, with rhythmic applications and breaks recommended to avoid habituation effects.
Side effects and precautions
Possible side effects include a slight increase in body temperature, localized inflammatory reactions around the injection site, and temporary mild swelling of regional lymph nodes.If there is a fever over 38 °C or major local reactions over 5 cm in diameter, the next injection should only be given after these symptoms have subsided and at a reduced strength or dose.
Helixor® must not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to mistletoe preparations, acute inflammatory or high fever diseases, chronic granulomatous diseases and autoimmune diseases with severe symptoms, hyperthyroidism with palpitations, as well as primary brain and spinal cord tumors or intracranial metastases with the risk of increased intracranial pressure.
Storage
Helixor® should be kept out of the reach of children and should not be used after the expiry date.The ampoules should be stored in the original packaging and in the refrigerator to protect the contents from light.
