Active ingredients and composition

Helixor A contains an extract of fresh pine mistletoe (Viscum album ssp. abietis) in a ratio of 1:20.The solution for injection is prepared with water for injections and sodium chloride (99.91:0.09).One ampoule corresponds to 10 mg of fresh plant.

Areas of application

Helixor A is used according to the anthroposophical knowledge of humanity and nature.In adults, these include:

• Malignant and benign tumor diseases

• Malignant diseases of the blood-forming organs

• Defined precancerous lesions

• Prevention of relapses after tumor operations

Application and dosage

Helixor A is administered as a subcutaneous injection, if possible close to the tumor or in different areas of the intact skin.The usual dosage is 2-3 injections per week.Therapy begins with a low dose, which is gradually increased until the optimal individual dose is reached.

The optimal dose is determined based on various reactions, such as changes in subjective well-being, temperature reactions, immunological reactions and local inflammatory reactions at the injection site.In case of hypersensitivity or severe reactions, the dose should be reduced.

Side effects

Possible side effects include a slight increase in body temperature, localized inflammatory reactions around the injection site, and temporary mild swelling of regional lymph nodes.If there is a fever over 38 °C or major local reactions over 5 cm in diameter, the next injection should only be given after these symptoms have subsided and at a reduced strength or dose.

In rare cases, allergic reactions may occur that require discontinuation of the product and immediate medical attention.The occurrence of chronic granulomatous inflammation and autoimmune diseases has also been reported.

Instructions for use

Helixor A must not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to mistletoe preparations, acute inflammatory or high fever diseases, chronic granulomatous diseases and autoimmune diseases with severe symptoms, as well as hyperthyroidism with palpitations.

Particular caution is required in the case of hypersensitivity to other substances, primary brain and spinal cord tumors or intracranial metastases with a risk of increased intracranial pressure.If used with other immune-active drugs, you should consult your doctor.

Storage

Keep medicines out of the reach of children.The medicine must not be used after the expiry date stated on each ampoule and box.Store the ampoules in the original packaging to protect the contents from light.Store in the refrigerator.
