Information about Helixor P 10 mg

Helixor® P is an anthroposophic medicine that is used for the extended treatment of tumor diseases.It contains an extract of fresh pine mistletoe (Viscum album ssp. austriacum) in a ratio of 1:20, prepared with water for injections and sodium chloride.No prescription is required for this product.

Areas of application

In accordance with the anthroposophical knowledge of humanity and nature, Helixor® P is used in adults to stimulate form and integration forces to dissolve and reintegrate growth processes that have become independent.These include malignant and benign tumor diseases, also with accompanying disorders of the blood-forming organs, defined precancerous lesions and the prevention of relapses after tumor operations.

Composition

One ampoule of Helixor® P 10 mg contains an aqueous extract of fresh pine mistletoe, equivalent to 10 mg of fresh plant.Other ingredients include sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide and water for injections.

Application

Helixor® P is used as a subcutaneous injection (syringe under the skin), if possible near the tumor or metastasis or in different areas of the intact skin.The usual dose is one injection 2 to 3 times a week.Therapy usually begins with a low dose, which is gradually increased until the optimal individual dose is determined.The exact application and dosage should always be carried out as directed by the doctor.

Side effects and precautions

Possible side effects include a slight increase in body temperature, localized inflammatory reactions around the injection site, and temporary mild swelling of regional lymph nodes.If there is a fever over 38 °C or major local reactions over 5 cm in diameter, the next injection should only be given after these symptoms have subsided and in a reduced dose.Helixor® P must not be used in case of hypersensitivity to mistletoe preparations, acute inflammatory or high fever diseases, chronic granulomatous diseases, autoimmune diseases with severe symptoms, under immunosuppressive treatment or in case of hyperthyroidism with palpitations.

Storage

Helixor® P should be kept out of the reach of children and should not be used after the expiry date.The ampoules should be stored in the original packaging and protected from light in the refrigerator.Helixor® P 10 mg must not be stored above 30 °C.
