Instructions for use of Helixor A 20 mg

Helixor® A/-M/-P injection solution contains an extract of fresh mistletoe in a concentration of 1:20.It is manufactured with pine mistletoe for Helixor® A, apple tree mistletoe for Helixor® M and pine mistletoe for Helixor® P. The amount of fresh plant material used for one ampoule is given in milligrams.Water for injections and sodium chloride in a ratio of 99.91:0.09 are used as extractants.

Helixor® is used in accordance with anthroposophical knowledge of humanity and nature.It is intended for adults and is used to treat malignant and benign tumor diseases, including accompanying disorders of the blood-forming organs.It can also be used to prevent relapses after tumor operations and in defined precancerous lesions.

No prescription is required for this product.

Application and dosage

Helixor® should always be used exactly as your doctor has told you.The injection is carried out subcutaneously, if possible in the vicinity of the tumor or metastases, otherwise in varying locations on the intact skin.It is recommended not to draw up Helixor® in a syringe with other medicines and not to store opened ampoules.

The usual dose is 2-3 injections per week.Therapy begins with an induction phase in which the dose is gradually increased until maintenance therapy is achieved.The optimal dose is determined individually and can be adjusted depending on the patient's reaction.

Side effects

Possible side effects include a slight increase in body temperature, localized inflammatory reactions around the injection site, and temporary mild swelling of regional lymph nodes.If there is a fever over 38 °C or major local reactions over 5 cm in diameter, the next injection should only be given after these symptoms have subsided and at a reduced strength or dose.

Allergic or allergy-like reactions may also occur, requiring discontinuation of the preparation and immediate medical treatment.In rare cases, chronic granulomatous inflammation or autoimmune diseases may occur.

Storage

Helixor® should be kept out of the reach of children and should not be used after the expiry date.The ampoules should be stored in the original packaging and in the refrigerator to protect the contents from light.
