Instructions for use of Helixor P 20 mg

Helixor® is an anthroposophic medicine that is used for the extended treatment of tumor diseases.It contains an extract of fresh mistletoe, which, depending on the product variant, is made from pine mistletoe, apple tree mistletoe or pine mistletoe.The solution for injection is prepared with water for injections and sodium chloride as an extractant.

Areas of application

In accordance with the anthroposophical knowledge of humanity and nature, Helixor® is used in adults to stimulate form and integration forces to dissolve and reintegrate growth processes that have become independent.These include malignant and benign tumor diseases, also with accompanying disorders of the blood-forming organs, defined precancerous lesions and the prevention of relapses after tumor operations.

Active ingredients and composition

Helixor® is available in different strengths depending on the amount of fresh mistletoe used.The exact composition varies depending on the product variant (Helixor A, M or P) and strength.Each ampoule contains an aqueous extract of fresh mistletoe, corresponding to the specified amount of fresh plant, as well as sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide and water for injections.

Application

Helixor® is injected subcutaneously, if possible near the tumor or metastasis or in different areas of the intact skin.The usual dose is 2-3 injections per week.Therapy begins with an induction phase in which the dose is gradually increased until maintenance therapy is achieved.The optimal dose is determined individually and can be varied depending on the patient's reaction.

Side effects and precautions

Possible side effects include local inflammatory reactions at the injection site, fever, flu-like symptoms and allergic reactions.In the event of excessive reactions, the dose should be reduced or use temporarily paused.Helixor® must not be used in case of hypersensitivity to mistletoe preparations, acute inflammatory or high fever diseases, chronic granulomatous diseases, autoimmune diseases with severe symptoms, under immunosuppressive treatment or in case of hyperthyroidism with palpitations.

Storage

Helixor® should be kept out of the reach of children and should not be used after the expiry date.The ampoules should be stored in the original packaging and protected from light.Helixor® 0.01 mg - 0.1 mg should be stored in a refrigerator, while Helixor® 1 mg - 100 mg should not be stored above 30 °C.
