Instructions for use of Helixor® M 50 mg

Helixor® M is an anthroposophic medicine that is used for the extended treatment of tumor diseases.The active ingredient consists of an extract from fresh apple tree mistletoe (Viscum album ssp. album) in a ratio of 1:20.Water for injections and sodium chloride are used as extractants.

No prescription is required for this product.

Areas of application

In accordance with the anthroposophical knowledge of humanity and nature, Helixor® M is used in adults to stimulate form and integration forces to dissolve and reintegrate growth processes that have become independent.These include:

• Malignant tumor diseases, also with accompanying disorders of the blood-forming organs

• Benign tumor diseases

• Defined precancerous lesions

• Prevention of relapses after tumor operations

Composition

1 Ampoule of Helixor® M contains an aqueous extract of fresh apple tree mistletoe, equivalent to 50 mg of fresh plant.Other ingredients include sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide and water for injections.

Application

Helixor® M is administered subcutaneously (under the skin) as an injection solution.If possible, the injection should be carried out close to the tumor or metastasis, otherwise in different locations on the intact skin.Do not inject into inflamed skin areas or radiation areas.The usual dose is one subcutaneous injection 2-3 times weekly.Therapy usually begins with an introductory phase in which the dose is gradually increased.

The optimal dose must be determined individually.Reactions such as changes in subjective well-being, temperature reactions, immunological reactions and local inflammatory reactions at the injection site must be taken into account.

Side effects

Possible side effects include a slight increase in body temperature, localized inflammatory reactions around the injection site, and temporary mild swelling of regional lymph nodes.If there is a fever over 38 °C or major local reactions over 5 cm in diameter, the next injection should only be given after these symptoms have subsided and at a reduced strength or dose.

Local or general allergic or allergy-like reactions may occur, requiring discontinuation of the preparation and immediate medical attention.

Storage

Keep medicines out of the reach of children.The medicine must not be used after the expiry date stated on each ampoule and box.Store the ampoules in the original packaging to protect the contents from light.Store in the refrigerator.

More information

Helixor® M is available in original packs with 8 ampoules of the same concentration (0.01-100 mg) and in serial packs with 7 ampoules in increasing concentrations.
