Soledum capsules are an anti-inflammatory and expectorant medicine that is used as an additional treatment for respiratory diseases.The active ingredient cineole helps to loosen stuck mucus and promote the formation of thinner mucus that is easier to cough up.This prevents pathogens that cause illness from settling and multiplying in the respiratory tract.Cineole also has an anti-inflammatory effect and reduces swelling of the mucous membranes.

Areas of application

Soledum capsules are used to treat the symptoms of bronchitis and colds of the respiratory tract.They are also suitable as additional treatment for chronic and inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract, such as inflammation of the paranasal sinuses.The product is available without a prescription.

Dosage and application

Always take Soledum capsules exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.The recommended dose for adults and adolescents aged 12 and over is 2 capsules 3 times daily.In particularly stubborn cases, 2 capsules can be taken 4 times a day.For continued and long-term treatment, 2 capsules twice a day are generally sufficient.Children aged 2 to 12 years should take 1 capsule 3 times daily.

Please take the capsules whole with plenty of liquid, preferably a glass of drinking water (200 ml).Avoid hot drinks and take the capsules half an hour before eating if possible.If you have a sensitive stomach, you can also take the capsules with meals.The duration of intake depends on the type, severity and course of the disease.

Composition

An enteric-coated soft capsule from Soledum contains 100 mg cineole as the active ingredient.The other ingredients are medium-chain triglycerides, sorbitol solution 70% (non-crystallizing), gelatin, glycerol 85%, ethyl cellulose, ammonia solution 28%, oleic acid, sodium alginate, stearic acid and candelilla wax.

Contraindications

Soledum capsules must not be taken if you are hypersensitive to the active ingredient cineole or to any of the other ingredients.The medicine should also not be used for pseudocroup and whooping cough.If you have bronchial asthma or hypersensitive bronchi, you should speak to your doctor or pharmacist before use.The medicine must not be used in infants and small children under 2 years of age.Children under 8 years of age should only take the medicine after consulting a doctor or under medical supervision.

Side effects

Possible side effects of Soledum capsules can include gastrointestinal complaints such as nausea and diarrhea.If you notice any discomfort or change during treatment, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Storage

Keep Soledum capsules out of the reach of children and do not store the medicine above 30 °C.Do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the carton or container.

Notes
