Soledum® capsules contain the active ingredient cineole, which is obtained from the leaves of the eucalyptus tree.This natural substance develops its effect in the body's respiratory tract, where it has an expectorant, anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic effect.The capsules help to liquefy inflammatory secretions and thick mucus and make their removal easier.This prevents a build-up of secretions and the further spread of pathogens in the respiratory tract.

Areas of application

Soledum® capsules are used to treat the symptoms of bronchitis, acute, uncomplicated, non-bacterial inflammation of the paranasal sinuses (rhinosinusitis) and colds of the respiratory tract.They are also suitable as additional treatment for chronic and inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract, such as inflammation of the paranasal sinuses.They can also be used for flu-like infections, colds with coughs and runny nose, acute and chronic bronchitis and sinus infections.

Active ingredients and ingredients

One gastro-resistant capsule from Soledum® capsules contains 100 mg cineole as the active ingredient.The excipients include medium-chain triglycerides, D-glucitol-D-mannitol oligosaccharides, gelatin, glycerol 85%, hydrochloric acid 25%, methacrylic acid-ethyl acrylate copolymer, propylene glycol, polysorbate 80 and glycerol monostearate 40-55.

Contraindications

Soledum® capsules must not be taken if you are known to be hypersensitive to the active ingredient cineole or to any of the other ingredients.The medicine should also not be used for whooping cough and croup.

Dosage and intake

Adults and children over 10 years of age typically take two capsules three times daily.In particularly stubborn cases it can be two capsules four times a day.For continued or long-term treatment, two capsules twice a day are usually sufficient.Children under 10 years take one capsule three times daily.

The capsules should be taken whole with plenty of liquid that is not too hot, preferably half an hour before eating.If you have a sensitive stomach, it is recommended to take the capsules with meals.

The duration of intake depends on the type, severity and course of the disease.If symptoms persist, shortness of breath, fever or purulent or bloody sputum, a doctor should be consulted.

Patient information

No special precautions are required when taking Soledum® capsules.Medicines should be kept out of the reach of children.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Based on research, there are no concerns about the use of the drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding.However, for general safety considerations, it should not be used in the first trimester of pregnancy.Cineole does not pass into breast milk.

Notes

Soledum® capsules contain sorbitol and are also suitable for diabetics.
