No prescription is required for this product.Cuprum metallicum praeparatum 0.4% ointment is an anthroposophic medicine that is used for circulatory disorders and congestion.According to the anthroposophical knowledge of man and nature, it is suitable for the treatment of integration disorders of the heat organism and the metabolic system, venous circulation disorders and congestion, especially in the legs after long periods of standing or sitting, cramps of all kinds, especially of the smooth muscles, as well as for the accompanying treatment of degenerative kidney diseases.

Application and dosage

The ointment should be applied thinly to the affected skin areas 1-2 times a day.Treatment of an acute illness should be completed after 2 weeks.In the case of chronic illnesses, the duration of treatment must be agreed with your doctor.If there is no improvement within 2-3 days, a doctor should be consulted.It is not necessary to use a double dose if a dose is missed.

Contraindications and precautions

There are no known contraindications.However, it should not be used for degenerative kidney diseases without medical advice and does not replace other medicines prescribed by a doctor.The medicine should not be used in children under 1 year of age as there is no adequately documented experience.During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the medicine should only be used after consulting your doctor.If you have water retention in the tissue, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, itching, leg cramps or sudden, unusually severe symptoms in a leg that are noticeable through swelling, discoloration of the skin, a feeling of tension or heat as well as pain, you should consult a doctor.

There are no known side effects.Interactions with other medicines are also not known.However, the doctor or pharmacist should be informed if other medicines are used.

Composition and storage

10 g of the ointment contain 0.4 g of the active ingredient Cuprum metallicum praeparatum M (HAB, V. 48) as well as the ointment base yellow petroleum jelly and viscous paraffin.The ointment is available in pack sizes of 23 g and 65 g.After opening the pack, the ointment has a shelf life of 2 months.The medicine should not be stored above 25°C.
