Areas of application

Desitin® ointment spray is traditionally used to support wound healing.This application is based on many years of experience and tradition.If there is no visible improvement within five days or signs of inflammation such as yellowish lesions, redness, pain or itching occur, you should consult a doctor.

Active ingredients and ingredients

Desitin® ointment spray contains 11.3 g zinc oxide and 4.9 g cod liver oil per 200 ml ointment with propellant.Other ingredients include medium chain triglycerides, methyl salicylate, thick paraffin, aroma, cream rose, white petroleum jelly (contains butylated hydroxytoluene), lanolin (contains butylated hydroxytoluene), lanolin alcohol ointment (contains cetostearyl alcohol and butylated hydroxytoluene), propane and butane.

Contraindications

Desitin® ointment spray must not be used if you are hypersensitive to zinc oxide, cod liver oil or any of the other ingredients.The preparation is not suitable for infants under one year of age as there are no sufficient studies available.The product should not be applied to the inflamed breast during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Dosage and application

Shake the ointment spray vigorously before use.Spray it onto the affected skin areas from a distance of about 30 cm one to several times a day.Treatment continues until the wound surface heals.Avoid contact with mucous membranes and eyes.The face of small children should be covered.No prescription is required for this product.

Side effects

Possible side effects include mild skin irritation, burning or contact dermatitis.If you notice such reactions or if any of the side effects seriously affect you, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.

Storage

Keep the medicine out of the reach and reach of children and do not use it after the expiry date stated on the bottom of the container.The container is pressurized and should not be stored above 25°C.Protect it from sunlight and temperatures above 50 °C.Do not spray the product against a flame or on glowing objects and keep it away from sources of ignition.Spray empty for disposal.

Desitin® ointment spray is a white-yellowish ointment with a slight cod liver oil smell.A 200 ml spray can contains 18.84 g of ointment and 90 g of propellant (propane-butane).
