Instructions for use of L-Mesitran wound ointment

L-Mesitran wound ointment is a product for treating various types of wounds.It contains 48% medical honey, medical hypoallergenic lanolin (Medilan*), sunflower oil, cod liver oil, calendula officinalis, aloe barbadensis, vitamin C & E and zinc oxide.When it comes into contact with the wound, the product draws fluid from the adjacent tissue, creating ideal conditions for moist wound healing.This promotes autolysis of necrotic and devitalized material, improves wound bed preparation, and supports epithelialization, accelerating the overall wound healing process.

L-Mesitran wound ointment has antibacterial properties and dissolves gradually, making it easier to remove following local wound cleaning protocols.It prevents a secondary dressing from sticking to the wound bed.Due to the natural ingredients, color (yellow to brown) and viscosity may vary depending on the batch.Visible sugar crystals are also possible, but have no influence on the effectiveness and method of use of the product.

Areas of application

The wound ointment is suitable for superficial and acute wounds such as cuts, abrasions and split skin removal sites as well as for 1st and 2nd degree burns.It is also suitable for chronic wounds such as pressure ulcers, venous, arterial and diabetic ulcers.It can also be used for deodorization and wound cleaning on oncological wounds.Colonized acute wounds and postoperative surgical wounds can also be treated with it.

Contraindications and undesirable effects

No contraindications have been reported to date.The product should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to the product or any of its ingredients.

Precautionary measures and comments

Always consult a doctor for wound management recommendations.Do not use new products that are damaged or have expired.Inspect the wound and clean according to local protocol.After autolytic wound cleaning, the wound may appear larger after the first dressing change, but this is normal.In case of intolerance to L-Mesitran or any of its components, remove the product using appropriate techniques and carefully clean the wound.L-Mesitran is intended for use in a single patient and may be reused in the same patient.After use, close the tube or jar again.Once opened, the product has a shelf life of three months.Dispose of the product according to local regulations.

Instructions for use

Tube: Unscrew the cap, clean the tube thread and the tip of the screw cap with an alcohol swab.Use the tip of the lid to pierce the tube seal without pressing on the tube.Crucible: Remove seal and lid.

Distribute L-Mesitran with a sterile spatula either directly on the wound and the wound surroundings or first apply it to a sterile gauze.Then cover the wound with a suitable bandage, depending on the amount of wound secretion.Inspect the wound and surrounding area regularly according to local protocol.

Frequency of application

The frequency of use depends on the amount of wound secretion and the needs of the wound.Reapply the product after it has dissolved (approximately every 24 - 48 hours).

Storage

Store the product at room temperature between 5°C and 25°C.Store away from direct sunlight and moisture.L-Mesitran is a natural product that can become more liquid at higher temperatures.If this is undesirable, place the product briefly in the refrigerator before use.
