Mepilex Ag is an antimicrobial foam dressing specifically developed for the treatment of acute and chronic wounds with signs of infection.The dressing is suitable for moderately exuding wounds such as venous leg ulcers or burns.Mepilex Ag has the gentle Safetac technology, which minimizes pain when changing dressings.In addition, thanks to its silver technology, the bandage offers rapid and lasting antimicrobial effectiveness.Clinical studies have shown that burns with Mepilex Ag heal faster, less painfully and more cost-effectively than with silver sulfadiazine.

The bandage enables a virtually painless and atraumatic bandage change.It is gently adhesive, adaptable and soft.Mepilex Ag does not slip under a fixation bandage and can be cut to the desired size.The Safetac layer seals the wound edges and prevents exudate from leaking onto the surrounding skin, thereby minimizing the risk of maceration.The dressing can be easily lifted or changed, minimizing trauma to the wound and pain for the patient.

Ingredients and mode of action

Mepilex Ag is a soft and highly conformable antimicrobial foam dressing that absorbs exudate and maintains a moist wound environment.The dressing renders wound-specific pathogens ineffective within 30 minutes and maintains this effect for up to 7 days.By reducing the number of microorganisms, Mepilex Ag also reduces the odor.

Application

Mepilex Ag is intended for the treatment of weakly to moderately exuding wounds that show signs of infection.The bandage can be used under compression.Mepilex Ag does not need to be tailored to the size of the wound when compression is used.
