Mepilex Ag is an antimicrobial foam dressing specifically designed for the treatment of acute and chronic wounds with signs of infection.The dressing is suitable for moderately exuding wounds such as venous leg ulcers or burns.Infected wounds often cause pain, which is why Mepilex Ag is equipped with gentle Safetac technology to minimize pain when changing dressings.In addition, the bandage offers clinically proven antimicrobial effectiveness thanks to its silver technology.Burns heal faster, less painfully and more cost-effectively with Mepilex Ag compared to silver sulfadiazine.

Mepilex Ag enables almost painless and atraumatic dressing changes.The bandage is gently adhesive, adaptable and soft, does not slip under a fixation bandage and can be cut to the desired size.However, it is not necessary to cut Mepilex Ag to the size of the wound when compression is used.

Application

Mepilex Ag is intended for the treatment of weakly to moderately exuding wounds that show signs of infection.The bandage can also be used under compression.Mepilex Ag is a soft and highly conformable antimicrobial foam dressing that absorbs exudate and maintains a moist wound environment.The Safetac layer seals the wound edges and prevents exudate from leaking onto the surrounding skin, thereby minimizing the risk of maceration.Thanks to Safetac technology, the dressing can be easily lifted or changed, minimizing trauma to the wound and pain for the patient.

Mepilex Ag renders wound-specific pathogens ineffective within 30 minutes and for a period of up to 7 days.By reducing the number of microorganisms, Mepilex Ag also reduces the odor.
