Area of application

Ebenol Spray contains the active ingredient hydrocortisone, a glucocorticoid that is intended for use on the skin.It is used for the relief of non-infected mild inflammatory, allergic or pruritic skin diseases that respond to symptomatic treatment with low-potency glucocorticosteroids.The spray is particularly suitable for normal or oily skin and is intended for short-term use on adults and children aged 6 and over.The duration of treatment should be a maximum of two weeks.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredient in Ebenol Spray is hydrocortisone.The other ingredients are citric acid monohydrate, ethanol 96%, purified water, glycerol 85%, hypromellose, sodium edetate, sodium hydroxide and propylene glycol.Propylene glycol can cause skin irritation.

Contraindications

Ebenol Spray must not be used in the case of allergies to hydrocortisone or other ingredients, in the case of specific skin symptoms such as syphilis or tuberculosis, in the case of viral infections such as chickenpox or herpes, in the event of vaccination reactions, in the case of fungal or bacterial skin infections, in the case of acne vulgaris, steroid acne, perioral dermatitis, rosacea, on open wounds and in children under 6 years of age.Large-area or long-term use should be avoided.

Dosage

Unless otherwise prescribed, Ebenol Spray should be used 2 to 3 times daily at the start of treatment.Once the clinical picture improves, one application per day or every 2 to 3 days is usually sufficient.The duration of treatment should not be longer than two weeks.If you experience significant signs of dehydration or persistent symptoms, you should consult a doctor.In the event of an overdose, the dose should be reduced or the spray discontinued.Forgotten applications should not be made up.

Application

Ebenol Spray is intended for external use and is sprayed onto the affected skin.Avoid contact with mucous membranes, eyes and open skin areas.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when using on the face, on sore skin areas, around skin ulcers and in the genital and anal areas.In children, therapy should be carried out with restraint and not longer than two weeks.Older people need special caution due to the weakened skin barrier.There are no known effects on the ability to drive.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

During pregnancy, the use of Ebenol Spray should be avoided as much as possible and should only be used briefly and on small areas.During long-term treatment with glucocorticoids during pregnancy, growth disorders and damage to the unborn child cannot be ruled out.If you are breastfeeding, the spray should only be used after consulting your doctor and not in the breast area.At higher doses, breastfeeding should be discontinued.

Storage

Ebenol Spray should be stored at a temperature not exceeding 25°C and out of the reach of children.The medicine may no longer be used after the printed expiry date.After opening it should be used within 12 months.
