Instructions for use of Fenistil Gel

Fenistil Gel contains the active ingredient dimetindene maleate.It is used for short-term itching relief from small itchy insect bites on intact skin.It also helps with itching caused by skin diseases such as chronic eczema, urticaria and other allergy-related skin diseases.Fenistil Gel can also be used for first degree burns and sunburn.

No prescription is required for this product.

The gel contains propylene glycol and methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate (Ph.Eur.).

Areas of application

Fenistil Gel is used to relieve itching in the following areas:

- Itchy skin conditions, such as allergic skin conditions, eczema and hives

- Itchy insect bites

- Sunburn

- Minor burns

Mode of action

The active ingredient dimetindene maleate in Fenistil Gel blocks the effects of histamine, a substance released in the body during allergic reactions.By blocking the histamine receptors, the allergic reaction and itching are alleviated.Redness and swelling of the skin decrease.

Application and dosage

Apply Fenistil Gel to the affected skin area up to three times a day and massage in gently.The gel cools immediately after application and relieves itching within a few minutes.For infants and small children, the gel should only be applied to small areas.If there is no significant improvement within seven days, please consult a doctor.

Special instructions for use

Only use Fenistil Gel on uninjured and non-inflamed skin.If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should discuss its use with your doctor beforehand.Avoid contact with mucous membranes, eyes and open wounds.Once the tube has been opened, the gel will last for up to six months.

Composition

Active ingredient: Dimetindene maleate 1 mg per gram of gel.

Excipients: Propylene glycol, carbomer 980, sodium hydroxide for pH adjustment, methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate, purified water.
