ABC Heat plaster Capsicum is a herbal medicine for the external treatment of muscle pain in adults and adolescents aged 12 and over.The active ingredient is cayenne pepper thick extract, which promotes blood circulation and has a pain-relieving effect.The patch is used to relieve muscle pain, for example in the lower back.

Application

The patch is used on dry, uninjured skin.Peel off the backing paper and apply the patch to the skin with the adhesive side over the painful area.The patch should remain on the skin for at least 4 and up to 12 hours.After contact with the patch, wash your hands with soap and water.Any residue can be removed with vegetable oil, a moisturizer or cold water.Wait at least 12 hours before applying a new patch to the same area.

Contraindications

ABC Heat patches must not be used if you are hypersensitive to cayenne pepper, capsaicinoids of other origins or any of the other ingredients.The plaster must also not be used on damaged skin and wounds.Children under 12 years of age should not use the medicine.During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the patch should not be used without first consulting a doctor.

Side effects

Like all medicines, ABC heat patch can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.The active ingredient leads to increased local blood circulation with significant skin redness and a feeling of warmth.In rare cases, hypersensitivity reactions of the skin with redness, itching and blistering may occur at the application site.If this is the case, the patch should be removed and treatment discontinued.

Composition

One patch contains 395.4 - 551.7 mg thick extract of cayenne pepper (4 - 7:1) corresponding to 11.0 mg capsaicinoids, calculated as capsaicin.Extract agent is ethanol 80% (V/V).The other ingredients are glucose syrup, 2,2'-methylene-bis-(6-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol), 2,2'-(propane-1,2-diyldiiminodimethyl)diphenol, orris root powder/rice flour mixture, rubber, poly(butadiene block styrene) (76.5:23.5), cis-1,4-polyisoprene,Talc, beta-pinene, poly(2-methylbut-2-en-co-penta-1,3-diene), hydrogenated rosin glycerol ester, low-viscosity paraffin, wool wax (lanolin), elastic flannel (plaster carrier) and paper siliconized on one side (covering paper).

Storage

Keep medicines out of the reach of children.Once removed, the patch should be disposed of in a well-closed plastic bag with household waste.Hands should be washed with soap and water after contact with the patch.Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, tongue or lips.The medicine must not be used after the expiry date stated on the pack.Do not store above 25°C.Use within 3 months of opening the pack.
