Instructions for use of Helixor M 100 mg

Helixor® is an anthroposophic medicine that is used for the extended treatment of tumor diseases.It contains an extract of fresh mistletoe, which, depending on the variant, is made from pine mistletoe, apple tree mistletoe or pine mistletoe.The solution for injection is produced with water for injections and sodium chloride as an extractant.

Areas of application

In accordance with the anthroposophical knowledge of humanity and nature, Helixor® is used in adults to stimulate form and integration forces to dissolve and reintegrate growth processes that have become independent.This includes malignant tumor diseases, including those with accompanying disorders of the blood-forming organs, benign tumor diseases, defined precancerous lesions and the prevention of relapses after tumor operations.

Active ingredients and composition

Helixor® is available in different strengths, which indicate the amount of fresh plant material used to make one ampoule.In addition to the mistletoe extract, the injection solution also contains sodium chloride and water for injection purposes.The exact composition varies depending on the strength of the solution.

Application

Helixor® is injected subcutaneously, if possible in the vicinity of the tumor or metastases, otherwise in different locations of the intact skin.The usual dosage is 2 to 3 injections per week.Therapy begins with an induction phase in which the dose is gradually increased until the optimal individual dose is determined.This dose is then continued in the maintenance phase, with rhythmic applications and breaks recommended.

Side effects

Possible side effects include a slight increase in body temperature, localized inflammatory reactions around the injection site, and temporary mild swelling of regional lymph nodes.If there is a fever over 38 °C or major local reactions over 5 cm in diameter, the next injection should only be given after these symptoms have subsided and at a reduced strength or dose.Allergic reactions are also possible and require discontinuation of the preparation and immediate medical treatment.

Storage

Helixor® should be kept out of the reach of children and stored in the refrigerator.The ampoules should be stored in the original packaging to protect the contents from light.The medicine must not be used after the expiry date stated on the ampoule and box.
