Instructions for use of Helixor P 100 mg
Helixor® is an anthroposophic medicine that is used for the extended treatment of tumor diseases.It contains an extract from fresh mistletoe, with Helixor® A made from pine mistletoe, Helixor® M from apple tree mistletoe and Helixor® P from pine mistletoe.The amount of fresh plant used to make one ampoule is given in milligrams.Water for injections and sodium chloride are used as extraction agents.
In accordance with the anthroposophical knowledge of humanity and nature, Helixor® is used in adults to stimulate form and integration forces to dissolve and reintegrate growth processes that have become independent.This includes malignant tumor diseases, including those with accompanying disorders of the blood-forming organs, benign tumor diseases, defined precancerous lesions and the prevention of relapses after tumor operations.

Application and dosage
Helixor® is applied by subcutaneous injection (syringe under the skin), if possible near the tumor or metastasis or in different areas of the intact skin.The usual dose is one subcutaneous injection 2 to 3 times weekly.Therapy usually begins with an induction phase in which the dose is gradually increased until maintenance therapy is achieved.
The optimal dose must be determined individually and can be varied depending on the patient's reaction.A reduction in dose may be necessary during radiation or chemotherapy.The treatment can take place over several years, with breaks of increasing length usually being taken.
Side effects and precautions
Possible side effects include a slight increase in body temperature, localized inflammatory reactions around the injection site, and temporary mild swelling of regional lymph nodes.If there is a fever over 38 °C or major local reactions over 5 cm in diameter, the next injection should only be given after these symptoms have subsided and at a reduced strength or dose.
Helixor® must not be used if you are hypersensitive to mistletoe preparations, suffer from an acute inflammatory or high fever illness, suffer from chronic granulomatous diseases or autoimmune diseases with severe symptoms, or are under immunosuppressive treatment.Helixor® should also not be used if you have an overactive thyroid with a racing heart.
Composition and storage
Helixor® is available in different pack sizes, including original packs of 8 ampoules of the same concentration and serial packs of 7 ampoules in increasing concentrations.The solution for injection should be stored in a refrigerator, whereby Helixor® 0.01 mg - 0.1 mg should be stored in a refrigerator and Helixor® 1 mg - 100 mg should not be stored above 30 °C.
Keep medicines out of the reach of children.You must not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on each ampoule and box.
