Information for use of the article Chelidonium Kapseln: - Indications: This anthroposophical medicinal product is taken to stimulate the warmth and sensory organisation in the metabolic system in cases of indigestion, biliary dysfunction, constipation and flatulence. - Contraindications: Pregnant and breastfeeding women should not use the medicine. It must also not be used in cases of known hypersensitivity to anise, anethole, caraway oil, peppermint oil, chicory and other composite herbs and in cases of cross-allergy to umbelliferous plants. - Precautions and warnings: People with liver disease should consult their doctor before use. A doctor should also be consulted in case of gallstone disease, jaundice, dark urine or fever, as well as in case of persistent, unclear or new symptoms. The medicine should not be used in children under 12 years of age. - Interactions with other medicinal products: None known. - Dosage and administration: It is recommended to take 1 soft capsule 2 to 3 times daily before or after meals with liquid. Treatment of an acute illness should be completed after 2 weeks. In case of persistent complaints or chronic diseases, the duration of treatment should be agreed with a doctor. If used for more than 4 weeks, liver function values should be checked. - Side effects: In rare cases, upper abdominal discomfort and diarrhoea may occur.
