Important information (mandatory data):
Biofax® classic hard capsules. Indications: To support the excretory function of the kidney, based exclusively on many years of use. Warning: Contains glucose syrup. For risks and side effects, read the package leaflet and ask your doctor or pharmacist.

What is Biofax classic and what is it used for?
Biofax classic is a traditional medicine that is registered for the area of application exclusively on the basis of many years of use. It is traditionally used to support the excretory function of the kidneys.

How should Biofax classic be taken?
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as agreed with your pharmacist. Please ask your pharmacist if you are not sure.

How and how often should you take Biofax classic?
Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, the usual dose for adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over is: 1 capsule 3 times a day. Take the capsules after meals. Swallow the capsules whole (do not chew). Drink plenty of water, preferably a glass of water. Please ensure that you drink enough fluids during the entire period of use. Please note that medicines should not be taken while lying down.

How long can you take Biofax classic?
Traditionally, the duration of use is 2 to 4 weeks. However, please note the information in section 2.2 as well as the information in section 4.

If you have taken a larger amount of Biofax classic than you should:
Symptoms of poisoning have not been reported so far. If you accidentally take 2 to 3 single doses of the medicine more than you are supposed to, this does not usually have any adverse effects. If you have taken significantly higher doses, please inform your doctor. He or she can decide on any measures that may be necessary. It is possible that side effects may increase.

If you forget to take Biofax classic:
Do not take twice the amount if you have forgotten to take it before. Wait until the next time you take the medicine and then take your usual dose. If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, please ask your doctor or pharmacist.

How should Biofax classic be stored?
Storage conditions: Store in the original packaging and not above 30 °C. Keep the medicinal product out of the reach of children. The expiry date of this medicinal product is printed on the folding box and the press-through packaging after "Use by". The expiry date refers to the last day of the month. You must not use the medicinal product after this date. Do not dispose of medicines in sewage or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of the medicine when you stop using it. By doing so, you are helping to protect the environment.

Indications for use:
- Traditionally used to support the excretory function of the kidney.

Dosage and directions for use:
- Adolescents from 12 years and adults: 1 capsule 3 times daily after a meal. The total dose should not be exceeded without consulting a doctor or pharmacist. - Route of administration: Take the medicine with liquid (e.g. 1 glass of water). - Duration of use: You should not use the medicine for longer than 2-4 weeks without medical advice. In case of prolonged or regularly recurring symptoms, you should consult your doctor. - Overdose: In the event of an overdose, gastrointestinal complaints, among other things, may occur. Contact a doctor immediately if you suspect an overdose. - Forgotten dose: Continue taking the medicine at the next prescribed time (i.e. do not double the dose). In general: Pay attention to a conscientious dosage, especially with babies, small children and elderly people. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist about any effects or precautions. A dosage prescribed by the doctor may differ from the information in the package leaflet. Since the doctor will adjust it individually, you should therefore use the medicine according to his instructions.

Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to the ingredients - Water retention (oedema), especially in heart and kidney failure - Cardiovascular diseases - Children under 12 years of age - Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Use is not recommended.

Side effects:
- Gastrointestinal complaints such as nausea, diarrhoea, abdominal pain. - Dizziness - attacks of breathlessness - Cardiovascular reactions - Sweating
If you notice any abnormality or change in your condition during treatment, contact your doctor or pharmacist. For the information given here, the main side effects considered are those that occur in at least one in 1,000 patients treated.

Composition:
1 Biofax classic hard capsule contains:
- 15 mg dry extract of birch leaves (4-8:1); extraction agent: water. - 14 mg dry extract of hawthorn root (6-9:1); extraction agent: ethanol 20% (m/m) - 14 mg dry extract of garden bean pods (8-14:1); extraction agent: water

Mode of action:
Many years of experience have shown that the medicinal product can help with certain complaints. How the individual ingredients work has not yet been proven in scientific studies.

Important notes:
- Caution in case of allergy to ascorbic acid (vitamin C)! - Caution in case of allergy to spices, e.g. anise, mugwort, dill, fennel, carrot, coriander, caraway, paprika, parsley, celery and tomatoes! - Caution in case of allergy to colourings (e.g. indigocarmine with the E-number E 132)! - Be careful if you have an intolerance to glucose. If you have to follow a diabetes diet, consider the sugar content.

Storage:
The medicinal product must be protected from heat and stored in the dark (e.g. in the outer carton).
