Kamillosan® Cream is a herbal medicine for external use that provides relief from inflammatory skin diseases such as neurodermatitis and various eczema.The cream contains a natural chamomile flower extract from the specially bred Manzana chamomile, which has a particularly high active ingredient content compared to conventional chamomile.The yellowish to pale greenish cream has the characteristic smell of chamomile and is suitable for follow-up treatment following local corticosteroid therapy.

Area of application

Kamillosan® Cream is used for follow-up treatment following external corticosteroid therapy for inflammatory skin diseases, e.g.B. EKZEME

Eczema is inflammation of the skin.Depending on the type of eczema, the inflammatory skin changes appear with swollen and red skin, blisters, nodules and scales.The eczema often initially oozes and later crusts over; sometimes it is associated with severe itching.They can be an indication of a contact allergy or occur as part of neurodermatitis, seborrheic eczema or psoriasis.For some forms of eczema, creams, ointments or lotions with anti-inflammatory corticosteroids can help in the short term.Kamillosan® Cream, with its wound-healing-promoting effect, has proven itself as a follow-up to external corticoid therapy.

NEURODERMITIS

Neurodermatitis (also called atopic eczema or atopic dermatitis) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease that occurs in episodes and is accompanied by severe itching.As a rule, the skin is dry; in acute episodes, weeping eczema also occurs.Certain areas of the skin are particularly affected, such as the neck (neck), elbows, back of the knees or wrists.The most important measure in any neurodermatitis treatment is daily skin care.Ointments are suitable for skin care of very dry skin; for less dry or weeping skin, a cream is better, such as Kamillosan® Cream.

Contact dermatitis, also known as contact dermatitis, is the result of hypersensitivity of the skin to a certain substance (allergen).These can be, for example, fragrances, preservatives, cleaning agents or metals such as nickel.Hairdressers and cleaners are often affected by contact eczema.The inflammation of the skin appears as a red, swollen, weeping and/or itchy area of skin with blisters or scales.The skin change is typically limited to the point of contact with the allergen.The most important measure is to avoid the allergy-causing substance.Treatment usually involves ointments or creams containing cortisone.

Mode of action

Kamillosan® Cream is the only chamomile extract made from Manzana chamomile, which is particularly rich in active ingredients.This variety was bred and patented specifically for Kamillosan.A special manufacturing process guarantees a consistently high content of active ingredients.Manzana chamomile significantly surpasses the chamomile used in other preparations in terms of its active ingredient content.Kamillosan® cream contains an alcoholic extract from chamomile flowers of Manzana chamomile.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to chamomile and other composite plants or any of the other ingredients of the preparation.

Dosage

Recommended use of Kamillosan® Cream: Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, Kamillosan® Cream is used as follows: Apply a thin layer to the skin 3 times a day.As soon as the clinical picture has improved, one application twice a day is sufficient.The duration of the application is not limited in time.

Can Kamillosan® Cream be used on children?Due to its compatibility, Kamillosan® Cream is also recommended for use on infants and small children.There are no sufficient studies on the use of this medicine in newborns, therefore the use of Kamillosan® Cream is not recommended for infants who are not yet 4 weeks old.

What should I do if more than recommended was used?No case of overdose has been reported in connection with the use of Kamillosan® Cream.

Are there any known interactions with other medicines?To date, there are no known interactions with other medicines.

How long does Kamillosan® cream last?The cream has a shelf life of 12 months after opening.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when using the drug: There are no sufficient studies on the use of this drug in newborns.Therefore, the use of the preparation is not recommended for infants who are not yet 4 weeks old.

Driving and using machines: No special precautions are required.

Pregnancy

Breastfeeding: Before breastfeeding newborns, the cream must be removed from the nipple area.Before using any medicines, ask your doctor or pharmacy for advice.
