Information

DUOFILM is a solution containing 16.7% salicylic acid and 15.0% lactic acid, which is used to treat vulgar warts in children from 2 years of age, adolescents and adults.No prescription is required for this product.The solution contains 153.18 mg of alcohol (ethanol) per 1 gram and is highly flammable.Therefore, it should be kept away from open flames and the bottle should always be closed after use.

Area of application

DUOFILM is used to treat common warts.It is important to note that warts are transmissible and measures should be taken to prevent the spread of infection.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredients in DUOFILM are salicylic acid and lactic acid.Each gram of the solution contains 167 mg of salicylic acid and 150 mg of lactic acid.In addition, the solution contains the following excipients: collodion, pyroxylin, ethanol, ether, purified water, rosin and refined castor oil.

Contraindications

DUOFILM must not be used if there is hypersensitivity to salicylic acid, lactic acid or any of the other ingredients of the preparation.It should not be used on the face or genital area and is not suitable for infants.

Dosage and application

DUOFILM is intended exclusively for external use.The solution should be applied to the wart(s) 2 to 4 times daily.Before reapplication, the existing film should be removed by peeling or rubbing.Care must be taken to ensure that the solution does not get on the healthy skin surrounding the wart.With regular use, the softened stratum corneum can be easily removed after a few days.This process is repeated until the wart is removed or falls off.

Using the drug over a period of 6 to 12 weeks is usually sufficient.If you have used more medicine than you should, ask your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any unusual reactions on your skin.If you forget to use the medicine, do not use twice the amount of the product.If you stop using the medicine, no special measures are required.

Patient information

Particular care is required when applying the preparation to the affected skin areas.The preparation should not come into contact with eyes and mucous membranes.Long-term treatment on large areas should be avoided for small children.No special precautions are required regarding the ability to drive and use machines.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Prolonged use of the product during pregnancy and breastfeeding should be avoided.To treat vulgar warts, a treatment area of 5 cm² should not be exceeded.Do not use on the breast area while breastfeeding.

Notes

DUOFILM is highly flammable and should not be used on large areas.In the event of excessive irritation, treatment should be interrupted temporarily and resumed when the reaction has subsided.If the wart(s) affect a large part of the body surface (more than 5 cm²), alternative treatment methods should be considered.
