Duofilm solution against warts is a medicinal product for the treatment of vulgar warts in both adults and children from 2 years of age. It contains the active ingredients salicylic acid and lactic acid. Before use, it is important to note that Duofilm must not be used if there is an allergy to salicylic acid, lactic acid or any of the other ingredients. Duofilm should also not be applied to red, irritated or inflamed skin, moles, port-wine stains or hairy warts, or to the face, intimate areas or mucous membranes such as the eyes, nose or mouth. It is advisable to consult a doctor or pharmacist before use. Duofilm should only be applied externally to the wart(s) and should not come into contact with healthy skin. Application is once a day before going to bed. Improvement of the warts may occur within 1-2 weeks and maximum effect is usually expected within 4-8 weeks. However, treatment should not last longer than 12 weeks. Duofilm may cause side effects such as itching, burning, redness, swelling, skin peeling and skin thickening. If skin irritation occurs, treatment should be discontinued and a doctor or pharmacist consulted. Pregnant women and nursing mothers should consult their doctor or pharmacist before using Duofilm. It is important to note that Duofilm is flammable and should be kept away from heat, fire and flames. In general, use in children and adolescents is not recommended.
