The Bolfo flea and tick protection tape is an effective way to combat fleas and ticks on small dogs and cats.It offers reliable protection for up to four months against fleas and up to ten weeks against ticks.The active ingredient Propoxur, also known as (2-isopropoxyphenyl)(methyl carbamate), is continuously released from the powder band and distributed throughout the animal's fur.Fleas are killed within a few hours, while sucked ticks die after about a day and can be easily removed or fall off spontaneously.

Ticks are not only active between March and September, but can occur all year round due to milder winters.Since they also feel comfortable in gardens and urban areas, regular protection for dogs and cats is important.The Bolfo collar is particularly suitable for animals that spend time in gardens, parks and meadows.It can be used on puppies as young as three months old.

Mode of action

The active ingredient Propoxur is in powder form on the collar and is distributed evenly over the entire surface of the animal's body via the fatty film of the skin.This ensures an even and effective effect against fleas and ticks.An overdose is practically impossible because the active ingredient is released continuously and in a controlled manner.

A 12.5 gram collar contains 1.234 grams of the active ingredient Propoxur.Additionally, it contains the following ingredients: dibutyl adipate, propylene glycol octanoate decanoate, epoxidized soybean oil, stearic acid, titanium dioxide, iron oxide hydrate, iron (III) oxide, iron(II,III) oxide and polyvinyl chloride.

Contraindications

The Bolfo flea and tick protection tape should not be used on animals with a known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.It is also not suitable for sick or convalescent animals, puppies under three months of age, animals with extensive skin lesions or animals used for food production.

Dosage

The collar should be removed from the sealed protective packaging, unrolled and the plastic residue on the inside removed.It is placed loosely around the animal's neck, with a distance of about two fingers recommended between the neck and the band.The protruding end can be cut off if necessary.The correct fit of the collar should be checked regularly, especially in the first few days after putting it on.

Patient information

The veterinary medicinal product may irritate the eyes and cause allergic reactions upon contact with the skin.After putting on the collar, hands should be washed thoroughly with soap and water.Contact of eyes and skin with the collar should be avoided.Do not eat, drink or smoke during use.Dogs wearing the Bolfo collar are not allowed to swim in open water.

Application

The collar is attached to the animal's neck, using one collar per animal.It should fit loosely and be checked regularly for proper fit.The duration of the protective effect depends on the length and condition of the fur, the activity of the animal and the parasite infestation.If the coat is shaggy or greasy, the animal should be shampooed and brushed before putting on the collar.Grooming can continue as usual, but the collar should be removed before bathing and only put back on when the animal is dry.
