Directions for use - Prontosan W Wound Irrigation Solution Prontosan Wound Irrigation Solution is a sterile solution used to cleanse, irrigate and moisturise acute, chronic and infected skin wounds and first and second degree burns. It can also be used to moisten dressings. The solution has various properties, such as loosening wound coatings, intraoperative cleansing and irrigation of wounds, instillation in combination with V.A.C. Ulta, loosening encrusted wound dressings and bandages before removal, preventing biofilm formation and creating an environment conducive to healing. Prontosan Wound Irrigation Solution can be used repeatedly and long-term and has a shelf life of up to eight weeks after opening. The use of Prontosan wound irrigation solution serves to clean wounds and accelerates healing. It moistens the wound area and the dressings and absorbs odours. The solution is well tolerated by the skin and can be combined with other products for wound care. Prontosan wound irrigation solution contains the active ingredients betaine and polyhexamethylene biguanide as well as water for injection. The product should not be used in cases of known hypersensitivity to one of the ingredients. Prontosan wound irrigation solution is dosed as required and according to the instructions for use.
