The sterile, ready-to-use Prontosan W wound irrigation solution is suitable for cleaning, rinsing and moistening acute, chronic and infected skin wounds as well as first and second degree burns.No prescription is required for this product.

The Prontosan W wound irrigation solution is used to clean wounds to support healing.

Mode of action

Wounds need to be cleaned in order to heal better.With the Prontosan W wound irrigation solution you can clean a wound painlessly and thus accelerate healing.The solution moistens the wound area and the dressings.It also absorbs odors, is well tolerated by the skin and can be combined with other wound care products.The solution can be used long-term as it lasts up to eight weeks after opening.

1 ml of Prontosan W wound irrigation solution contains betaine and polyhexamethylene biguanide.Other ingredients include water for injections.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients mentioned, this product should not be used.

Properties

The Prontosan W wound irrigation solution dissolves wound deposits such as necrosis, fibrin and biofilm.It is suitable for intraoperative cleaning and irrigation of wounds as well as for instillation in combination with the V.A.C.Ultra.The solution dissolves encrusted wound dressings and dressings before they are removed and prevents the formation of biofilm.It creates a healing environment and is suitable for repeated and long-term use.The shelf life is up to 8 weeks after opening.
