Directions for use of the article Calcium acetate-Nefro 950 mg film-coated tablets: Calcium acetate-Nefro 950 mg is a mineral preparation used to bind phosphate found in food. This reduces the amount of phosphate that is absorbed into the body. It is used in patients undergoing dialysis treatment for severe kidney disease to treat and prevent elevated phosphate levels. Indications: - Phosphate lowering for elevated serum phosphate levels in patients with chronic renal failure on dialysis treatment. Dosage: - Adults: Start by taking 1-2 film-coated tablets twice daily, preferably with meals. The dosage depends on the level of phosphate concentration in the blood and should be checked regularly. The usual dose is 2 to 4 film-coated tablets twice a day. - Children and adolescents under 18 years of age: The use of Calcium Acetate Nefro 950 mg is not recommended for this group of patients. Intake: - The film-coated tablets should be taken unchewed with some liquid. It is recommended to take the film-coated tablets only with meals.
