Information for use of the article Hemodorm 50mg Einschlaftabletten: - Important information: Hemodorm 50 mg Tablets are suitable for the short-term treatment of sleep disorders. Read the package leaflet and ask your doctor or pharmacist about risks and side effects. - Hemodorm 50 mg Tablets are sleeping pills from the group of antihistamines and are used for the short-term treatment of sleep disorders. - Before taking Hemodorm 50 mg Tablets, certain contraindications should be considered, such as hypersensitivity to the active substances, acute asthma, glaucoma, certain tumours of the adrenal medulla, enlargement of the prostate gland with residual urine formation, epilepsy, potassium or magnesium deficiency, slow heartbeat, certain heart diseases, concomitant use of certain other medicines, alcohol or MAO-inhibitors, and during pregnancy and breast-feeding. - Special caution is advised when taking Hemodorm 50 mg Tablets in certain conditions such as impaired liver function, chronic lung disease or asthma, as well as certain gastric dysfunctions. - Long-term use of sleeping pills may lead to a loss of efficacy and the development of dependence. - When taking Hemodorm 50 mg Tablets together with other medicines, certain interactions should be noted. - During treatment with Hemodorm 50 mg Tablets, alcohol should not be consumed and driving and operating machinery should be avoided. - Hemodorm 50 mg Tablets contain lactose and should not be taken if you have a known intolerance to certain sugars. - The dosage and directions for use state that adults should take one tablet daily at bedtime. The duration of use should not normally exceed 2 weeks. - Possible side effects of Hemodorm 50 mg Tablets may include drowsiness, dizziness, difficulty concentrating, dizziness, muscle weakness, headache, gastrointestinal complaints, dry mouth, visual disturbances, problems with urination, cardiac arrhythmia, hypersensitivity reactions, increased sensitivity of the skin to light, changes in blood count, increase in intraocular pressure, jaundice and "paradoxical reactions" such as restlessness, nervousness, agitation, anxiety, tremor or sleep disturbances. - Hemodorm 50 mg Tablets should not be used in children and adolescents under 18 years of age. - Hemodorm 50 mg Tablets are available in packs of 20 tablets. - If Hemodorm 50 mg Tablets is taken in excess, a doctor should be informed immediately. - The medicinal product should be kept out of the reach of children and stored at room temperature away from moisture. - If any side effects occur, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist. - Source: Package leaflet, as at: 12/2016
