Optiderm® - medical help for itching and dry skin

Optiderm® is ideal for daily basic therapy of dry, itchy skin.It quickly relieves itching, provides the skin with intensive moisture and stabilizes the skin's barrier function.The lotion is particularly suitable for treating larger itchy skin areas such as legs and body as well as hairy skin.The thin lotion is an oil-in-water formulation with 25% lipid content and is quickly absorbed into the skin.

Unique combination of active ingredients

Optiderm® is the only medicine that contains a combination of the active ingredients urea and polidocanol.Urea is one of the best moisturizing factors and supports the skin's ability to bind water.It is often used as basic therapy for dry skin and is well tolerated as an endogenous substance.In people with neurodermatitis, psoriasis or diabetes, the urea content in the skin is often reduced.Optiderm® can compensate for this deficiency so that the skin regains its natural moisture and becomes smooth and supple.The skin's barrier function is also stabilized.

Polidocanol has a local anesthetic effect on nerve fibers that mediate itching and thus quickly reduces the torturous itching.The symptoms often disappear completely within a week.The skin barrier stabilizes and can resume its natural protective function.Optiderm® is characterized by very good tolerability and effectiveness in patients with dry, itchy skin.

100 g emulsion of Optiderm® Lotion contains:

Active ingredients: 5.0 g urea and 3.0 g macrogol lauryl ether 6.5 (polidocanol).

Other ingredients: Purified water, octyldodecanol, poly(methyl, phenylsiloxane), stearic acid 25, dimeticone, glycerol, thick paraffin, hexadecyl palmitate, polysorbate 40, carbomer 981, benzyl alcohol, trometamol.

Area of application

Optiderm® Lotion is used to regulate the moisture of the stratum corneum, lubricate and relieve itching.It is used as a supportive treatment for skin diseases with dry and/or itchy skin, such as atopic eczema (neurodermatitis), exsiccation eczema (drying damage caused by detergents, etc.), as well as for further and follow-up treatment of the skin diseases mentioned.The products are free of dyes and fragrances.

Contraindications

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Optiderm®.Particular caution is required when using near eyes and mucous membranes.Optiderm® should not come into contact with eyes and mucous membranes.When applied to damaged or inflamed skin, skin irritations such as redness or burning may occur.Please consult your doctor before using Optiderm® on children.

Dosage

Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, Optiderm® Lotion is applied evenly and thinly to the affected skin areas twice a day.When using it, ensure that the lotion does not come into contact with eyes and mucous membranes and do not apply the product to acutely inflamed, weeping or infected skin.The duration of application depends on the clinical picture and is an average of three weeks.If the skin is persistently dry, Optiderm® Lotion can be used over a longer period of time.

Intake

For use on the skin.Unless your doctor tells you otherwise, you should apply the product evenly and thinly to the skin twice a day.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.There are no known risks when using the product during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.If you are breastfeeding, please do not apply the lotion to the breast area to prevent the product from getting into the infant's mouth or lips.
