Glucose 10% B. Braun is an injection solution that contains glucose monohydrate as the active ingredient.100 ml of the solution contains 11.0 g of glucose monohydrate, which corresponds to 10.0 g of anhydrous glucose.The other ingredient is water for injections.This clear, colorless or slightly yellowish solution is supplied in glass vials of 50 or 100 ml and in polyethylene ampoules of 10 ml.No prescription is required for this product.

Glucose 10% B. Braun is used to raise blood sugar levels that are too low.The solution is also used to dissolve and dilute medications that are to be administered as an injection or infusion.

Application instructions

Glucose 10% B. Braun must not be used if your blood sugar level is too high, your blood potassium level is too low or your blood is hyperacidic.Particular caution is required if there is an increased salt content in the blood.During use, blood electrolyte values, fluid balance and acid-base status are regularly determined.In children, especially newborns and premature babies, close blood sugar monitoring is necessary.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking other medicines.So far no interactions are known.Use should be discussed with your doctor during pregnancy and breastfeeding.Glucose 10% B. Braun has no influence on the ability to drive.

Application and dosage

The dosage will be determined by your doctor based on your blood sugar levels.The solution is given as a slow injection or infusion.Overdose can lead to increased blood sugar levels, electrolyte deficiency and overhydration.In this case, the supply is slowed down or interrupted and the doctor decides on further measures.

Side effects

Storage
