Instructions for use for Contractubex® gel, 100 g
Contractubex® Gel
Contractubex® Gel actively supports the healing process of your scar. The active ingredients onion extract (Extractum cepae), heparin and allantoin penetrate deep into the scar tissue and help reduce scar formation with regular use.The result is an almost invisible scar.
Once the wound is closed and any stitches have been removed, you can generally begin using the scar gel.Starting treatment early can have a positive effect on scar development and prevent excessive scar tissue. The first visible successes can be achieved after just a few weeks of using Contractubex® Gel:
Excess scar tissue is prevented, redness fades, swelling, tightness and itching decrease, and the scar tissue becomes more elastic and flatter.Contractubex® scar gel can also be used on older scars to achieve a more even appearance.Your scar may become paler, flatter and more elastic with regular use.
No prescription is required for this product.
Area of application
Contractubex Gel is used for movement-restricting, enlarged (hypertrophic), bulging (keloid-shaped) and visually disturbing scars after operations, amputations, burns and accidents. It is also suitable for joint stiffness (contractures), such as Dupuytren's contracture, as well as for (traumatic) tendon contractures and scar shrinkage (atrophic scars) caused by injury.
Mode of action
Contractubex® Gel uses a combination of three different active ingredients to best support the skin in healing after injuries and to counteract noticeable scarring.
Extractum cepae (onion extract) has a decongestant and bactericidal effect. It prevents bacteria from entering the wound or scar and prevents possible inflammation. In addition, onion extract ensures that no bulging scar tissue forms and instead the scar remains smooth and inconspicuous.
Heparin has an anti-inflammatory effect and has a moisturizing effect. This loosens the tissue structure of the scar and promotes water retention in the scar tissue.Even with older and hardened scars with an extreme lack of water, blood circulation in the scar tissue is promoted.
Allantoin ensures that the other two active ingredients are better absorbed by the skin.It acts as a messenger and transports both heparin and onion extract into the deeper layers of the skin where they are needed.Allantoin also promotes wound healing and has an anti-irritation effect, which makes any itching from the scar more bearable or even makes it disappear completely.
