Instructions for use for Contractubex® Gel, 30 g
Contractubex® Gel
Contractubex® Gel actively supports the healing process of scars and helps to reduce scar formation. The gel contains three active ingredients: onion extract (Extractum cepae), heparin and allantoin. These active ingredients penetrate deep into the scar tissue and help the scar become paler, flatter and more elastic with regular use.
The gel can be used on fresh and older scars resulting from surgery, amputations, burns, accidents or other injuries.Contractubex® Gel can also help with joint stiffness (contractures) and tendon contractures. The application takes place after the wound has been closed, as soon as the wound is completely closed.
No prescription is required for this product.
Mode of action
Contractubex® Gel uses a combination of three active ingredients to support the skin in healing after injuries and to counteract significant scarring:
Onion extract (Extractum cepae) has a decongestant and bactericidal effect. It prevents bacteria from entering the wound or scar and prevents inflammation. It also ensures that no bulging scar tissue forms and the scar remains smooth and inconspicuous.
Heparin has anti-inflammatory and moisturizing effects. It loosens the tissue structure of the scar and promotes water retention in the scar tissue. This promotes blood circulation in the scar tissue, even in older and hardened scars.
Allantoin improves the absorption of the other active ingredients by the skin.It promotes wound healing and has a soothing effect, which makes any itching that may occur from the scar more bearable or even makes it disappear.
