Durafiber Ag is an absorbent, gel-forming wound dressing with silver.This wound dressing is particularly absorbent and contains gel-forming components.The mixture of cellulose fibers makes it suitable for the treatment of chronic, acute and infected wounds with medium to high amounts of exudate.The dressing period can be up to seven days, which supports economical care.

Properties and benefits

Durafiber Ag consists of non-woven fibers with gel-forming components and silver.It provides long-lasting antimicrobial activity that is effective against a broad spectrum of pathogenic bacteria for up to seven days.This also includes bacteria such as S. aureus, P. aeruginosa, MRSA and VRE.The wound dressing also minimizes the dead space in which bacteria can settle.

The high absorption capacity and retention of the wound dressing locks in the wound exudate and the harmful bacteria it contains.The wound dressing remains permanently intact and gel-proof, making it easy to remove in one move.It can remain on the wound for up to seven days.

The minimal shrinkage of the wound dressing ensures continuous coverage of the wound bed.The vertical absorption of the exudate minimizes the risk of maceration of the surrounding skin.The wound dressing adapts to the wound bed and supports wound healing by creating a moist wound environment.

Areas of application

Durafiber Ag is an absorbent, antimicrobial, gelling dressing suitable for the treatment of chronic and acute wounds.This includes full/partial skin wounds or shallow, granulating exuding wounds.Areas of application include leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, surgical wounds, traumatic wounds, skin donor sites, first and second degree burns, fistula tracts and tunneled wounds.It can also be used to treat secondary healing wounds and wounds that tend to bleed, such as surgically or mechanically debrided wounds.The wound dressing is also suitable for infected wounds.
