Tonsipret tablets are a homeopathic medicinal product for the treatment of inflammatory diseases of the throat, especially acute sore throat and tonsillitis (tonsillitis). The use of the medicinal product is based on the homeopathic remedy pictures. The dosage varies according to the age and condition of the patient. In acute conditions, adolescents from 12 years of age and adults should take one tablet every half to one hour, at most 12 times a day. For chronic conditions, a daily dose of 1-3 tablets is sufficient. Children aged 1-5 years should not take more than half the adult dose, while children aged 6-11 years should not receive more than two-thirds of the adult dose. The tablets should melt slowly in the mouth. The duration of use should not be prolonged without medical advice. In the event of an overdose, gastrointestinal discomfort or a laxative effect may occur in people who are lactose intolerant. If the dose is forgotten, do not take a double dose. Discontinuation of the medicine is usually safe. Important notes are that the medicine must not be used if there is hypersensitivity to the ingredients or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Possible side effects are gastrointestinal complaints, nausea and hypersensitivity. In case of persistent, new or unclear complaints, fever lasting longer than three days or rising above 39 degrees Celsius, a doctor should be consulted. The tablets contain Capsicum annuum, Guaiacum and Phytolacca americana as active ingredients. Other ingredients are potato starch, lactose monohydrate and magnesium stearate. The medicinal product should be kept away from heat and out of the reach of children. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.
