Dear patient, dear patient!Your doctor has prescribed the Otobar nasal balloon.With this aid you can easily equalize the pressure in the event of ventilation problems in the middle ear.

No prescription is required for this product.

Raising the balloon

It is best to hold the adapter in your left hand, press the edge of the balloon into the notch in the adapter with your left index finger and then use your right hand to guide the remaining edge completely into the curve without any folds.

Application

Now the balloon can be inflated.To do this, insert the rounded base of your nose into any nostril, hold the other one closed and inflate the balloon with your nose.Orange size is enough.Do you feel something popping or pressing in your ears?This is the desired effect!Apply the balloon several times a day;e.g. inflate 3 times a day.You don't need to change your nostril.The balloons should be replaced after approximately 20 uses.

Replacement balloons can be purchased at the pharmacy.For stubborn cases, Otobar replacement balloons are also available, which require a slightly higher inflation pressure.

Important notes

The balloons have material properties tailored to their intended use.The wall thickness is less than normal balloons.Therefore they are much more sensitive.Never store the balloons in direct sunlight.The UV-light makes the material brittle after a short time.Fax, copy and similar devices generate ozone.This has the same effect.They should also not be stored above 25 degrees Celsius or in the cold.Be careful when winding it up!Stretch the edge as little as possible.If overstretched, tears can develop under the balloon bead, which can cause the balloon to burst.If necessary, the adapter can be made lubricated with a touch of petroleum jelly or soap.Only inflate balloons to about the size of an orange.With larger volumes, which children like to test, they burst easily.

The balloons are made of natural latex, the processed sap of the rubber tree.If you suspect a latex allergy, you should seek medical advice.Use in children must always be supervised.To prevent choking, balloons should not be placed in the mouth and kept out of the reach of children.
