Directions for use of Otitex ear drops: Otitex is a solution to be instilled into the ear canal and is used to soften hardened earwax (cerumen). It is recommended before medical ear examinations and before topical ear medication. Hearing aid users can also use Otitex to keep the ear canal clean. However, there are some contraindications to the use of Otitex. It should not be used in case of damaged eardrum, hypersensitivity reactions to any of the ingredients, hypersensitivity of the ear canal, injury or inflammation of the ear canal or ear infection. The use of Otitex may cause painful discomfort depending on the condition of the ear canal. In such cases, it is recommended to rinse the ear canal with body-warm water and to interrupt the application of Otitex. It is important to note that Otitex must not be used together with other medicines for topical treatment of the ear canal. The recommended dosage is 10-15 drops per application, which should be instilled into the ear canal sideways while lying down. The softened earwax is rinsed out with body-warm water after 5-10 minutes. It is recommended to use Otitex regularly if there is an overproduction of earwax. The bottle should be closed after use and stored at normal room temperature. When using medical products, it should be noted that they should not get into the hands of children. Otitex should also not get into the eyes and should be rinsed out immediately with plenty of tap water in case of eye contact. Otitex has a maximum shelf life of 6 months after opening and should not be used after the use-by date stated on the pack. Mechanical cleaning of the ear canal with sharp objects should be avoided as this may cause injury. The manufacturer of Otitex is Südmedica GmbH, based in Munich.
