In the case of lipid metabolism disorders, every treatment begins with advice from the doctor. In many cases, lipid metabolism disorders can be positively influenced by changes in diet, increased physical exercise, weight loss and adequate treatment of a possible other metabolic disease. These measures should precede the use of medication for several weeks and be maintained while taking the drug.Drug treatment is generally only indicated as an additional measure and only if the metabolic disorder cannot be remedied by the measures mentioned alone.

The effect of the preparation can vary in individual cases. In order to achieve the desired treatment goal, long-term regular intake is necessary.Another requirement is strict adherence to all measures prescribed by the doctor. As with any long-term treatment, ongoing monitoring is necessary.Blood lipid levels should be checked repeatedly and regularly. At the same time, the need to continue treatment should be examined. Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of the preparation is too strong or too weak.

If you take more medicine than you should, the side effects may increase.Stop taking the product for one day. Then take the normal dosage again. If you forget to take the medicine, the time it takes to take effect may be longer; However, the treatment may not be successful at all.If you forget to take a dose of the preparation, please continue with the therapy as recommended without increasing the dose yourself.

If you stop taking the medication, you must expect that the desired effect will not be achieved or that the clinical picture will worsen again. Therefore, please consult your doctor if you want to stop or interrupt your treatment. If you have any further questions about using the medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Intake

The medicine should be taken whole with a little liquid immediately before meals.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine.Regular monitoring of liver function (transaminases) is required in patients with liver disease.Because there is insufficient experience, treatment of children is not recommended. No special precautions are required that affect the ability to drive or use machines.

Pregnancy

Animal experiments with fish oil or fish oil concentrates showed no evidence of teratogenic effects. Such effects are neither known nor expected with an intake of omega-3 fatty acids that corresponds to the usual healthy diet. There is currently no experience with pregnancy and breastfeeding with the high doses required to treat hypertriglyceridemia.Medicines should only be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding if deemed necessary.

Notes

If you have bruises (skin bleeding, mucous membrane bleeding), you should see a doctor immediately.Have your blood fat levels checked regularly by your doctor.Regular monitoring of liver function (transaminases) is necessary in liver diseases. The doctor must be informed before operations.

Before taking any medication for lipid metabolism disorders, you should consult your doctor. In many cases, lipid metabolism disorders can be positively influenced by changing your diet, increasing physical exercise, losing weight and adequately treating a possible other metabolic disease (diabetes, gout). These measures should precede the use of medication for several weeks and be maintained while taking the medication. In principle, taking medication only makes sense as an additional measure and only if the metabolic disorder cannot be remedied by the measures mentioned alone. The medicine is only taken if diet alone is not enough to lower blood fat levels. An influence of a reduction in triglycerides caused by the drug on hardening of the arteries (arteriosclerosis) or its secondary diseases has not yet been proven. An influence of the drug on the frequency and severity of inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis), which can occur as a complication of extremely elevated blood fat (triglyceride) levels in the blood, has not been proven.
