Echinacea-ratiopharm® is a herbal medicine that is made from the pressed juice of the red coneflower (Echinacea purpurea).The coneflower originally comes from North America and was already used by the natives as a proven remedy.Today the red coneflower is used worldwide to strengthen the immune system.

Mode of action

The tablets strengthen the immune system by increasing the number of white blood cells.This supports the body's own defenses.

Each tablet contains 100 mg of purple coneflower dry pressed juice (22-65:1) as the active ingredient.The excipients include highly disperse silicon dioxide, sorbitol, sodium cyclamate and magnesium stearate.

Area of application

Echinacea-ratiopharm® 100 mg tablets are used as supportive therapy for frequently recurring infections in the respiratory tract and urinary tract.They are also suitable for preventing colds and colds.The product is sugar-free.

Contraindications

The product should not be used if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients.It is not recommended for tuberculosis, leukemia, rheumatic diseases or autoimmune diseases such as HIV-infections.

Dosage

Adults and adolescents aged 12 and over should take one tablet 3 to 4 times daily.Children between 6 and 12 years old can take one tablet 2 to 3 times a day.It is taken regardless of meals.

Intake

The tablets can be sucked, chewed or taken with a glass of water.

Patient information

If symptoms last longer than a week or if shortness of breath, fever, purulent or bloody sputum occurs, a doctor should be consulted.Repeated complaints in the urinary tract require medical evaluation.If there is blood in the urine, fever or persistent symptoms for more than 5 days, you should consult your doctor.Allergic patients should consult a doctor before use.

There are no sufficient studies on the use of the preparation in children under 6 years of age.It should therefore not be used in children under 6 years of age.

No special precautions are required when driving or using machines.

Pregnancy

Due to insufficient examinations, taking the product during pregnancy and breastfeeding is not recommended.This also applies to women of childbearing age who are not using contraception.

Notes

Echinacea-ratiopharm® 100 mg tablets should not be taken for longer than 2 weeks.The product contains sorbitol and less than 1 mmol (23 mg) sodium per tablet, making it virtually sodium-free.Please do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack.
