Active ingredients and ingredients
The main active ingredient is heparin sodium salt, which is obtained from pig organs. The concentration is 60,000 IE per application. In addition, the product contains various excipients such as ammonia, carbomer, isopropyl alcohol, perfume oil, polyoxyethylene (6) caprylic acid/capric acid glyceride, polysorbate 60 and purified water.
Contraindications
The medicine must not be used if you are allergic to heparin or any of the other ingredients. Its use is also contraindicated if there is a known allergic reaction to heparin, which leads to a drop in the blood platelet count.
Dosage and application
Apply the gel thinly and evenly to the affected area 2 to 3 times a day.The application should not last longer than 10 days.If you have used more than intended, please contact your doctor or pharmacist. If you forget to use it, do not make up for it by taking a double dose.If you stop treatment prematurely, please consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Patient information
If you experience any new symptoms that could indicate a thrombosis or pulmonary embolism, such as swelling, warmth, red skin, tenderness or sudden shortness of breath, you should seek medical attention immediately.Regular platelet count checks are necessary, especially before starting treatment, on the first day thereafter and every 3 to 4 days thereafter until the end of treatment. If anticoagulant medications are used at the same time, the risk of bleeding may be increased. The gel should not be applied to open wounds or weeping eczema and must not come into contact with the eyes or mucous membranes as it contains alcohol.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Experience to date has not shown any harmful effects on pregnant or breastfeeding women.Heparin does not cross the placenta and does not pass into breast milk.
Notes
One of the first measures for superficial phlebitis is pressure treatment.Because of the alcohol content, the gel should not be applied to mucous membranes, open or inflamed areas of skin, or come into contact with the eyes, as a burning sensation may occur.
