Information for use with the article BASODEXAN OINTMENT: Basodexan ointment contains the active ingredient urea and is used for the supportive treatment of skin conditions such as ichthyosis (fish scale disease), dry skin conditions, dry eczema and psoriasis. The ointment moisturises the skin and makes it more supple. It is used twice a day by applying and rubbing it into the affected areas of the skin. The ointment should not be applied over large areas if the kidney function is impaired. Possible side effects are redness, burning, itching and scaling of the skin. The medicinal product may be used for a maximum of six months after opening and should be stored at room temperature.
