Elacutan cream is a cream used to relieve dry skin conditions. It contains the active ingredient urea and is used for various skin conditions such as neurodermatitis, age-related skin and ichthyosis. The cream has a horny layer softening and moisture regulating effect. Before use, it should be noted that Elacutan cream should not be used if one is hypersensitive to urea or other components of the preparation, or for the treatment of acute inflammatory skin diseases. In case of renal insufficiency, the cream should not be used on large areas. The cream is applied to the affected skin area 1-3 times a day and massaged in gently. The exact duration of treatment is determined by the attending physician. Side effects may occur, but these are usually rare. Possible side effects are skin irritation and disturbances of well-being. In children, the elderly and during pregnancy or breastfeeding, the dosage should be conscientious. Elacutan cream is a non-prescription medicine and is available in 50 g, 100 g or 150 g packs.
