Procaine 1% Ampoule is an ester-type local anesthetic used for local anesthesia.It is injected intracutaneously, i.e. into healthy skin, as part of neural therapeutic application principles.No prescription is required for this product.

The active ingredient in this medicine is procaine hydrochloride.1 ml of the solution for injection contains 10 mg of procaine hydrochloride.The other ingredients include sodium hydroxide solution (6%), hydrochloric acid, sodium chloride and water for injections.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used if you are hypersensitive to procaine, other ester-type local anesthetics, sulfonamides, benzoic acid, parabens or any of the other ingredients.It must also not be used if there is a known deficiency of pseudocholinesterase, for injection into arteries, into the area around the outer lining of the central nervous system or into the spinal canal.

Dosage

The preparation is usually used by a doctor.It should only be injected by people with appropriate knowledge.The basic rule is that only the smallest dose that achieves the desired nerve block may be administered.The dosage must be made individually.For adolescents over 15 years of age and adults of average height, the dose of procaine hydrochloride per wheal is up to 10 mg, the volume of the drug per wheal is up to 1 ml. The maximum recommended dose for single-stage use in tissues with rapid absorption of active ingredients is 500 mg of procaine hydrochloride (equivalent to 50 ml).When used in the head, neck and genital area, the recommended one-time maximum dose is 200 mg procaine hydrochloride within 2 hours (equivalent to 20 ml).In the case of certain previous illnesses, impaired liver or kidney function and in older people, a dosage adjustment may be necessary.

Intake

The preparation is injected intracutaneously depending on the nerve block required.It should only be sprayed by people with the appropriate knowledge to carry out the respective applications successfully.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when using it if you suffer from a certain form of muscle weakness, a disorder of the cardiac conduction system, weakness of the heart muscle or if the injection is to be carried out into an inflamed area.Before use, the treating doctor will ensure that the circulatory system is well filled, carry out careful circulatory monitoring and have all measures available for ventilation, seizure therapy and resuscitation.It is important to tell your doctor if you have had any allergic reactions to drugs chemically related to procaine.When used in the neck and head area, there is a higher risk of symptoms of poisoning in the central nervous system.To avoid side effects, certain points should be taken into account, such as choosing the dosage as low as possible and injecting slowly.Use with simultaneous preventive therapy to avoid thrombosis with low molecular weight heparin should only be carried out with particular caution.There is no sufficient experience with use in children and adolescents under 15 years of age.

Ability to drive and use machines

Let your doctor decide on a case-by-case basis whether you can actively participate in traffic, operate machines or carry out work without secure support.

Pregnancy

During pregnancy, the product should only be used if absolutely necessary.Procaine hydrochloride passes into breast milk.For short-term use, interruption of breastfeeding is not necessary.However, breast-feeding should be discontinued after repeated treatment or higher doses.
