Product features

Mepore is a sterile, self-adhesive and absorbent dressing.It consists of an absorbent wound dressing with an integrated, non-adhesive wound contact layer.The self-adhesive edge features a skin-friendly and solvent-free acrylic adhesive covered with two overlapping protective films to allow aseptic application.Mepore also has an outer breathable fleece that provides physical protection for the wound.

The components of the dressing material are acrylic adhesive, polyester fleece, viscose and polyolefin fleece.No prescription is required for this product.

Scope of application

Mepore can also be used by laypeople under the supervision of a healthcare professional.To use, you should first clean the wound according to clinical practice and carefully dry the skin surrounding the wound.Moisturizers, gels, or ointments on the skin surrounding the wound should be avoided as they may impair adhesion.

Remove the protective films and apply the adhesive side to the skin without stretching the bandage.Make sure the absorbent pad covers the wound.Gently press the edge to ensure proper adhesion to the skin.

To remove the bandage, hold it by the edge and slowly pull it away from the skin in the direction of hair growth.Be careful not to apply Mepore under tension to avoid shearing forces that can cause skin damage.When attaching over joints, care must be taken not to compromise the flexibility of the joint.Excessive swelling may occur after some surgical procedures.In this case, it may be better to use a more flexible bandage to minimize skin tension.

Mepore should be changed before it is fully saturated, if there is evidence of leakage, or according to clinical practice.Disposal must be carried out in accordance with local environmental regulations.

Precautions

Do not use Mepore in patients with a known hypersensitivity to acrylic adhesive or other materials/components of the product.Do not use the bandage on sensitive skin as it may cause skin irritation.Do not stretch the bandage when applying it.

If you notice signs of infection, such as fever or redness, warmth, or swelling of the wound or surrounding skin, contact a healthcare professional for appropriate treatment.Do not reuse Mepore as product performance may deteriorate and cross-contamination may occur.

Mepore is sterile.Do not use the product if the inner packaging (sterile barrier) is damaged or opened.The product must not be resterilized.
