Fenizolan® vaginal ovulum

Fenizolan® Vaginalovulum is a medicine used to treat fungal diseases of the vagina and labia (vulvovaginal candidiasis) in adolescents and adults.It is particularly effective for vaginal fungal infections caused by yeast.No prescription is required for this product.

Areas of application

This medicine is used to treat fungal infections of the vagina and labia.Typical symptoms of a vaginal yeast infection include burning, itching, white, crumbly discharge, and redness and swelling of the vulva.

Mode of action

With Fenizolan® 1-day therapy, vaginal thrush can be treated efficiently and quickly.The active ingredient fenticonazole alleviates the symptoms, and thanks to its sustained release effect, a single application is sufficient.The soft capsule is easy to insert, feels pleasant and has a creaming effect on the vaginal epithelium attacked by the fungus.The soft capsule can also be inserted without an applicator, which makes it particularly practical for on the go.

Active ingredients and ingredients

Fenizolan® Vaginalovulum contains the following active ingredients and excipients: fenticonazole nitrate 600 mg, sodium methyl 4-hydroxybenzonate (Ph.Eur.) 1.0 mg, sodium propyl 4-hydroxybenzoate (Ph.Eur.) 0.5 mg (preservatives), thin paraffin, white petroleum jelly, phospholipids from soybeans, gelatin, glycerol and titanium dioxide E171.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients mentioned, this product should not be used.

Dosage and application

Recommended use: 1-day therapy with depot effect.Insert 1 vaginal ovule deep into the vagina before bedtime.The medicine is used once.If symptoms of vaginitis persist, treatment can be repeated after three days.

Patient information

Take special care when using this medicine.No unprotected sexual intercourse should take place during and until 2 days after treatment.When used at the same time as latex barrier methods for preventing pregnancy, the tear resistance may be reduced.Therefore, the use of additional non-latex contraceptives is indicated.Local application over a longer period of time can trigger the development of a hypersensitivity reaction.If you use spermicidal agents, vaginal douches or other vaginal products, you should take this into account.

The drug is not intended to be used by children and adolescents under 16 years of age.There is no experience with regard to impairment of the ability to drive or use machines.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

The medicine should not be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding as there is no experience.

Notes

The drug is generally well tolerated on the skin and mucous membranes.After insertion into the vagina, an inflammatory reddening of the skin, a slight burning sensation or itching may occasionally occur, but this usually disappears quickly.Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
