Calcicare D3 is a vitamin and mineral preparation used to support specific therapy, to prevent and treat osteoporosis and to prevent and treat calcium and vitamin D deficiency in older people. It contains calcium carbonate and vitamin D3. The dosage for adults and elderly people is 1 chewable tablet 1-2 times a day, either during or between meals. The chewable tablet can be chewed or sucked. The total dose should not be exceeded without consulting a doctor or pharmacist. There are some contraindications to the use of Calcicare D3, such as elevated calcium levels, renal calculi, impaired kidney function and certain parathyroid disorders. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking it. Possible side effects of Calcicare D3 are increased calcium concentration in the blood, increased calcium excretion in the urine, constipation, flatulence, nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, itching, skin rash and hives.
